This production is exactly what it says, the crème de la crème of the Head First Acrobats’ routines with some guest artists thrown in for good measure!

The all too brief 55 minutes is hosted by the inimitable Cal Harris who has enough one liners to do a one man show. His ladder balancing act, including headstands, aided by a member of the audience is one of the highlights of the night.

Other acts include Mr Finale (Thomas Gorham), with an unidentifiable European accent, showcasing an amazing display of slapstick and skill with just a touch of nudity to rev the audience up, Chelsea Angell whose mastery of the art of manipulating hoops has to be seen to be believed, Liam Dummer’s gender bending aerial straps routine complete while hanging from his teeth and Jordan Twartz’s diabolo act performed at breakneck pace.

Other highlights include Thomas Gorham’s breakdancing including head spinning,  Harley’s double aerial strap routine culminating in a high-speed spin that seemed to be endless, Richard Sullivan’s juggling routine with 5 clubs (Sullivan somehow gives his clubs a life of their own as they nuzzle up to his neck or fly high into the air), and AJ and Jess’ knife throwing act. We have all seen knife throwing many times, but their act is on another level, particularly when JT hurls the knives through a sheet of paper held in front of Jess’ face.

Crème de la Crème is an exceptional night out! It had me cheering, hooting and hollering right from Cal’s introduction. It is funny, cheeky, daring and a must see to complete a night out at the Fringe!
