To the uninitiated, the setting for Godz appears to be a golden table and 4 golden chairs. In reality, it is the home of the Gods. Their table has ample wine for a bacchanal of epic proportions presided over by  Hercules (the god of strength) who beckons to us to join them in his revels!

There is so much to love about this show, incredible circus skills, a well written funny script, clever lighting, and sound plot and above all, the talent of the four performers.

The circus skills include - the diabolo (frantically and skilfully executed), balancing (on anything in sight), head spinning (on a table and a trapeze), ladder work, trapeze, aerial straps, whips and more!

My favourite highlights are – using a whip to extinguish candles (or did he?), balancing on five chairs balanced on a table, performing handstands on blocks, balancing on an unsupported ladder, dazzling trapeze work and the comedy expertise of the cast.

As if this was not enough, the evening’s entertainment concludes with one of the best aerial straps routines I have seen for a long while, performed by God himself!

Even if you have seen this production before, go and see it again, it is funnier every time. The boys also have a late-night show called Railed.

Godz is a feast of circus talent with more than a touch of spice. It is witty, clever, acerbic, and totally heavenly!
