Rouge
Moa Gluttony
18/02/2024
From the opening banter of our very handsome host/MC, it was clear that this would be an R18 show with a few twists. Rouge is inclusive whilst pushing boundaries in both sexualised content and amazing acrobatics, song and a burlesque.
The vocals were nothing short of phenomenal and the combination of opera with contemporary music joined the tapestry of dance, feats of strength and poise that was Rouge.
The precision of movement was astonishing and it was easy to observe, that the cast enjoyed every moment of their performance as did the near capacity audience. There are no nets involved and no room for error in this show, each act performs within sometimes mere centimetres from the audience.
Rouge is not new to Fringe audiences, but it is still sexy, empowered (no matter what your preference) and has a soundtrack that oozed all forms of sexuality for just over 1 hour. There were tender moments, hot and sensual acts (loved the whipping) and comedy along the way.
