Hilarious, naughty, entertaining and mind-blowing illusions! We learn about a 13 year-old teenager obsessed with cards who couldn’t wait to get into his bedroom at night, lock the door, set up his table and “play with his deck” … and, yes, there were many connotations linked to that phrase throughout the show.
It is a late show and for good reason! There was a young boy he spotted in the second row and when he found out the lad was nine, Dom indicated that he was going to learn a lot of new things. He started with masturbation and looked at the kid and said he would learn about that in a few years – but the boy’s smile suggested early knowledge!
The show is very interactive with people being selected out of the audience to either pick cards or join Dom on stage. One guy in particular hammed up his part brilliantly getting cheers from the packed house as well as adulations from the master magician himself.
The entire performance is card tricks and, at the start, you are wondering how many tricks can you possibly do in an hour and keep the audience’s attention. Well, quite easily apparently! There is one trick after another, each performed with captivating dexterity, humour and adult innuendos that had the crowd cheering and going wow, wow, WOW!
I won’t say much about the amazing illusions as don’t want to spoil the show. My companion and I came out literally shaking our heads in disbelief and saying “how the #?@& did he do those tricks?” – and, from what we heard, that was the same reaction as pretty well everyone.
This really is a must see if you want lots of laughs and unbelievable card illusions – but leave the kids with the babysitter!
One point to note, the venue does not have elevated seating except for a couple of rows at the very back. If you are short (like me!) then line up early to get in the first 2 or 3 rows! The stage is raised, but if you get someone tall in front of you then you may struggle to see properly.
