Seeing the SA Children's Ballet Company (SACBC) perform each year is always one of my Fringe highlights & this year was no exception! There is just something about seeing up & coming, homegrown SA talent in these youngsters that makes me feel very hopeful for the future of the arts in our state.

Aladdin and The Genie Of Unlimited Wishes is quite a different story to the Disney Aladdin we are used to, but that didn't stop the audience from enjoying it! The two young dancers that were with me in the audience loved every second and definitely walked out feeling inspired to keep working hard in their own ballet classes each week!

This was the first production from the SACBC since the pasing of Artistic Director, Beverley Waters, and it is safe to say they have done her proud. Lilli Napier as Princess Jasmine was particularly enchanting, the improvement in her dancing evident since her role as an Ugly Stepsister in Cinderella a year ago. All of the dancers have clearly worked hard to put this production together, with some beautiful technique on show.

The colourful costumes complemented the dancing, with the belly dance costumes being particularly effective.

If you have a young dancer, it is well worth taking them to SACBC performances twice yearly!
