Egg is a stunningly beautiful and hilarious exploration of the potentiality of motherhood, and how that fits within the life of a young woman in the year 2023. Starring the incredibly talented Erin Fowler, the Gluttony Ukiyo stage becomes a transportive whirlwind of life experience and imagination: detailing a first kiss, a first break up, then ultimately, fantasies of a Scottish husband that are only kept alive by Outlander Netflix binges. Eventually coinciding that she might have to freeze her eggs, as by the time she is 35 her pregnancy will be coined ‘geriatric’, Erin, with such grace, grapples with what such a life-decision might mean for her. Whether wiping away tears from laughter or Erin’s poignant performance, this show is sure to leave an impression that will stay with you long after Erin waddles her way from the stage in her egg costume.
