Smashed – The Brunch Party promises to be the perfect antidote to Friday night, with mimosas at the door and cabaret queens on stage. Smashed offers a series of talented and tantalising acts – including drag, burlesque, circus, and live music. Master of Ceremonies, the fabulous Victoria Falconer staggers to the stage, fighting an exaggerated hangover as she sings along to One Day Like This. With a little help from her cast, she rallies to welcome the audience.

Innovation, comedy, and talent abound in Smashed. Falconer does not ignore the elephant in the room, the “C-word.” However, she prefers to focus on the positive, creating an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. Her microphone has a glittery shield, so she can chat happily with the audience (while the cast find a suggestive use for hand sanitiser).

Dale Woodbridge-Brown opens the festivities with a bedazzled cowboy routine, complete with rope throwing and whip cracking, all to the tune of Save a Horse. Choreographer and burlesque star Lizzy Baker prances onto the stage, lip-syncing I Enjoy Being a Girl. Her charisma soars as the music changes to Boss Bitch. Kween Kong, the reigning Drag Nation AUS champion, treats the audience to a perfectly choreographed dance. Circus artist Malia Walsh performs an unforgettable routine while soaring above the audience on an aerial keg.

Finally, Falconer plays the violin as Alex De Porteous sings Confide in Me, before the entire cast meet on stage for a surprise show-stopper. Smashed delivers a “smorgasbord” of entertainment, the most wholesome and foot-stomping drag show performed before midday.
