Outrageous, captivating and utterly hilarious, The Marvellous Elephant Man: The Musical is the one Fringe performance you simply cannot miss. Performed at the Wonderland Spiegeltent in Hindmarsh Square (currently named the Wonderland Festival Hub) the hazy and magnificent venue completely transports audiences back to Victorian London: a gothic world of cruelty, ‘freak’ shows and, perhaps, love. Loosely based on the life of Joseph Merrick, exhibited in the 1880s as the Elephant Man, Guy Masterson, Floating World Entertainment and Joanne Hartstone have worked hard to, and have succeeded in, reimagining a man with comical lightness, as well as maintaining his strength and humanity. With only one last week of performances left, audience’s should be rushing to book seats to witness the outstanding performances, original songs and comedic beats of The Marvellous Elephant Man.
