ARIA-nominated DJ Groove Terminator takes the stage with the award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir for an extra special DJ-set/live performance/journey through the history of dance music from the 70s to today. Held in the huge open-air space of The Fantail at Gluttony, this journey through sight, sound, and presence, tells a joyous story of music that changed the world.

GT and the Soweto Gospel Choir deliver a show centred around a house music (an early and enduring genre of electronic music) DJ set that's part nightclub and part look back at the styles of music that defined decades.

House music mashed up with the amazing voices (and energy) of a gospel choir? The sound is sublime, to say the least.

The choir reminds us of the true sound of house as GT drops dancefloor bombs one after the other. Buoyed by the energy, the crowd sings and dances along. Not a single tune is wasted as the vibe keeps rising and the dancefloor keeps getting bigger.

You'll learn how house music comes from deeply human roots. Especially in the segues between decades when the choir takes over and the show breaks through to a different level of experience.

Speaking of experience, Groove Terminator (aka Simon Lewicki) has been an influential force in Australian dance music from way back in the 90s, when Adelaide was at the heart of the Australian electronic music scene - probably even the world electronic music scene. In 2023, there's nobody better suited to play a show like this to an Adelaide audience – it's his home town and he knows these dancefloors better than anyone.

History of House is an interesting hybrid, the vibe is pure nightclub or rave, but the selection of tunes, the visual storytelling, a bit of narrative from GT, and the Soweto Gospel Choir... they all make it a show you'll take a lesson from.

Remember to wear sturdy dancing shoes because the sound, the choir, the house beats, the staging, the visuals, and the venue, will have you up on your feet and dancing at some point - guaranteed.
