Hell in Heels is an amateur production crew hailing from Adelaide and fronted by Sally aka Six Inch Minx, with Chokehold being their second production at the Fringe. The show is hosted by Silver Brewing Co. who provide a generous private viewing space away from their regular patrons. An intimate setup where the audience can sit up close to the action. I must voice my respect for the performers enforcing safe and fair seating practices when an unexpected surge of last-minute ticket sales caused a sudden demand for higher-density seating and tight crowding around the stage areas. They were quick, professional and considerate of their audience's safety and viewing experience.

The crew of Hell in Heels is a diverse assortment of local professionals and amateur performers - some of whom are performing for their first Fringe. Cast members rotate for each show, with a few staples guaranteed every night. Standout highlights include Miss Shelby World, winner of Miss Pole SA, and Cam Waters who treats us to a suburb flying pole routine. Producer Six Inch Minx delivers some solid performances of her own, both in duo and solo floor routines. The cast rotates between aerial artists, fire spinners, and dancers

It's commendable how well many of these first-time performers execute their routines. Some visible nerves aside, each performer finds a way to connect with their audience and make their talents shine. Some acts are notably more confident and self-assured than others - such is to be expected with different levels of experience on stage. Some brief issues with prop execution aside, each part of the show brings something new into the mix. One particular straps routine featuring Taya Skuse had me breathless as her courageous drops left her mere inches from the floor.

If you’re one for sexy thrills and tantalising performances, get down to Silver Brewing Co. to see this talented band of scantily-clad misfits. You’re sure to have a good time!
