Iconic American performance artist, actor, playwright and so much more, Penny Arcade, captivates her audience with her performance memoir show: The Art of Becoming: Episode 3 – 1967-1974: Superstar Interrupted.

Part nostalgia, part cultural critique, Arcade takes you on a journey from childhood in 1950's suburban America to avant garade New York of the 1960s and 1970s. She has the insider's take on Andy Warhol's Factory, Max’s Kansas City nightclub and LGBT culture in New York. She recounts many friends, including Patti Smith, Quentin Crisp and even Robert Graves, whom she met in Spain towards the end of his life. In between these intimate recollections, Penny Arcade sings some original songs relevant to the that particular stage of her life.

Superstar Interrupted is part of an evolving series from Arcade, a performance piece version memior show, instead of a written work. And the performance is so much more engaging. to see Arcade herslf, on stage with her boundless energy a sage observations about fame, community and getting older.

An entertaining, witty and engaging show from someone who lived the artistic and cultural revolution of 1960's America.
