Acclaimed comedian, Thom Monckton, has summoned the subjects of Adelaide to the stage doors of Holden Street Theatres for the royal premiere of his newest comedic work: The King of Taking. With only a week of shows left available, A Mulled Wine Production presents a physical comedy that is witness to a petulant King as he hilariously manoeuvres himself around his throne room while restricted to his velvet royal carpet. While it is a suggestion for audiences to cordially bring their own gifts for the King––these are gifts that can span from a $1 romance novel to an empty, plastic water bottle that has been sitting in the backseat of your car––this element of the show can prove to be the most enjoyable, as Mockton makes each performance unique to his audience with brilliant improvisation and quick wit. A perfect addition to anyone's Fringe lineup, The King of Taking is guaranteed to leave cheeks aching from laughter and smiles.
