We've heard it said that dog owners often look like their dogs - but how do the team from Clownfish Theatre manage to look like EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL in their show, Attenborough and his Animals? Seriously, it is uncanny and goes to show what a bucket of talent these two physical theatre performers have!

Let me set the scene - the Adelaide Fringe has gotten a huge coup. David Attenborough himself is coming to the Fringe and bringing with him some fascinating animals - but when David and the animals don't show up, what will happen? The talented duo from Clownfish Theatre will have to become both the man himself AND all of the animals. Something tells us that we laughed more during this show than we would have even if Sir David Attenborough had actually turned up!

The impression of Attenborough is spot on, as are the animal impressions, from the movement right through to the sounds. Despite the comedic nature of the show, I actually learnt a lot! Obvious care has been taken by the performers and directors to study and mimic the movement and calls of these animals and the talent behind the way they move is epic.

We especially loved the Australian animals segment, particularly the quokka which was just as cute as the ones you see on Rottnest Island in real life! This show is probably best suited for kids aged 7 and up, especially if they have an interest in animals or have watched a few of Attenborough's docos. The concept of the show was lost on our 3 year old, who was disappointed in the lack of real animals, shouting loudly "WHERE ARE THE ANIMALS" throughout. Oops - we really should have  warned him!

Take a break from the regular circus and kiddy shows we are used to at the Fringe and enjoy some physical theatre comedy with your big kids!
