Hypnotist Matt Hale returns to the Adelaide Fringe for his fourth big season and this time he’s brought his sweatbands, short shorts and ‘best of the 80’s’ mixed tape with him!

Unlike his other shows, this one has a theme. And in one fast-paced, often hilarious hour of entertainment, you’ll get to see, hear and experience the best (and worst) of the 1980’s in all their glory. Arriving on the stage much like the Tasmanian Devil from the Looney tunes cartoons, Matt whipped the crowd up into a raucous frenzy, blaring music from Bon Jovi and Kenny Loggins, while also making sure that everyone was well-versed in their 80’s movie quotes. From then on it was audience participation time. Volunteers were brought up on stage to take part in all the madness and fun hypnotic activities that Matt had in store.

Having volunteered myself a couple of years ago, the hypnosis is harmless yet empowering, releasing you of your inhibitions and quietening that little voice inside your head that stops you from doing beguiling things in your life. And, without giving spoilers away, Top Fun! definitely lived up to its name. Matt was his usual big, boisterous, ball-of-fun self,  while the music hit plenty of sweet spots for this 80’s kid.

Top Fun! 80’s Hypnosis Spectacular is a show that requires the whole audience to be part of the performance. So leave your worries at the door and make sure to join in on all the frivolous shenanigans that take place in this crazy, 60-minute performance. Kids and adults alike will love this family-friendly show. Enjoy!
