If you saw the Purple Rabbit last year and loved it, then it’s time to ride again, and if you haven’t seen it before prepare to have your jocks blown off (yes I said jocks not socks, you’ll understand when you see the show). This year the Purple Rabbit has added a range of new magic tricks, circus theatrics and some good old-fashioned comedy complemented by a slew of returning classics.

It was nice to see some familiar faces such as the wickedly hilarious host Dom Chambers with the addition of some fabulous new faces, including Pipsa Ilpala from Finland, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Iggy Azalea but forget rapping, instead you’ll get some fancy foot juggling that will have your heading moving side to side, up and down, round and round. Certainly a rare act to see on the Fringe scene, and with the audible gasps heard from the audience, it appears others thought so too.

Swedish fire artist and burlesque performer, Angie Sylvia added some magic show essentials such as scorching hot fire tricks, tassel twirling and massive ‘whoop it up’ energy performed to backing tracks like 2011’s iconic party anthem I’m Still Hot by Luciana, yes my millennial friends, it was as nostalgic and energising as you could imagine, the clubbing days seemed to reappear like a rabbit out of a hat right in the Vagabond tent itself!

The show had exactly the right amount of audience participation and if you’re someone that likes to get up on the stage, there’s plenty of opportunity for you to do that too, alcohol consumption a must, you can thank me later.

If you like your magic hot, your card tricks mind altering and your comedy littered with sexual innuendos (or served straight up) then this show is most definitely for you!
