Maho Magic Bar offers family-friendly sessions before 4pm, providing an amazing experience for kids and adults alike. From the instagrammable exterior of bright neon lights, to the hazy, low-lit interior with intimate bars, sakura blossoms and paper lanterns, the atmosphere is a feast for the senses. There’s a wide variety of Japanese drinks to order, including cocktails (we recommend the Okinawa Paradise), shochu and sake, as well as non-alcoholic options for the kids including softdrink, sparkling Fuji apple juice and iced tea. Your drinks can be ordered via a QR code and the bartender creates the drinks with flair before delivering them right to your seat – you don’t have to go anywhere, and you won’t want to, because the real highlight of the show is the close-up magic performed right in front of your eyes. A rotating group of five magicians perform at each table, with card tricks and sleight of hand leaving you dumbfounded. The magic is close up and intimate, audience participation is frequent, and that includes the kids. There’s something very special about seeing the kids feel so important to the magic trick, and then wide-eyed at the result! The one-hour show whisks you away to another world – you really could imagine yourself in a bar in Tokyo. Exiting the bar into bright sunshine after an afternoon session can be jarring, you really forget it’s daytime in Adelaide when you’re inside.
