Take a trip around the world, reach for the stars and spend an uproariously fun night with the mind-blowing Bubble Show for Adults Only 2. Just when you thought that Iulia and Kurt (of the Bubble Show team) couldn’t get any crazier, they turn up to the Adelaide Fringe with this bizarre story of lust, love and bubbles… lots of them!

Taking place in the Virago tent in Gluttony, the theme of this year’s brand-new bubble show is based on the many styles of music and channels of a radio. We start in an office, where our performers are trying to work out how to make money from bubbles, before being transported off into a spaceship, where the discovery of a new alien life form has emerged. And this is where the show ramps up a notch, as our two astronauts go about creating bubbles of all varieties. Giant bubbles, smoke bubbles, foam bubbles and phallic bubbles, no bubble escapes unharmed from this eye-popping production. The most amazing part of this whole act is that Iulia and Kurt aren’t just putting on a bubble show for adults, but they’re acting, dancing and gyrating throughout this whirlwind sixty-minute performance WHILE creating soapy, circular magic. Don’t even get me started on where their ideas come from either, because I’ve never laughed so hard while being so awestruck at the same time.

This is a performance unlike any other at the Adelaide Fringe, and the most fascinating part is that Iulia and Kurt are using a specific medium that doesn’t always play by the rules. If it’s too windy, too hot or too cold some bubbles won’t work, but this duo just runs with it and gets laughs even if some creations don’t work on the first try. Dare I say, Bubble show for Adults Only 2 is better than the first, I can’t wait to see what this team brings to the stage next time around!
