Udderly Fabulous certainly lives up to its title! Using a seamless blend of songs and narrative, Nyssa tells the story of growing up on a dairy farm with a head full of dreams of becoming a professional performer, and what happens when those dreams don’t quite come to fruition as planned. Any musician or country kid can relate to Nyssa’s journey, which takes her through unsuccessful auditions, the discovery of karaoke, and the overwhelm of being a country kid in the big city.

Nyssa is a versatile singer, performing vocal gymnastics in quick shifts between styles, covering show tunes, opera, pop songs and even jazz. She was strongly supported by accompanist Steven Kreamer, who showed just as much versatility from the piano. Even without the storyline, Nyssa’s voice alone is worth the ticket price. That said, her story kept the audience enthralled, striking the perfect balance between comedic and heartfelt moments.

Stunning music, a relatable story, cow-related audience participation…this show has everything you could ever want in a cabaret show. That leaves only one thing left to say: moo!
