We were promised the crème de la crème of the Fringe and hoo boy, we were not disappointed! This is the perfect show for a kid free night out with a group of friends who can't decide on what to see. Crème de la Crème has a bit of everything that will satisfy even the fussiest Fringe goer. Circus? Check. Magic? Check. Comedy? Check. Dance? Check. A bit of swearing and cheekiness? Check. Folks, we loved this show and the huge bucket of talent that came with it. We were treated to a stunning hoops routine, some very clever cabaret slash comedy from one third of Laser Kiwi, magic from Paul Dabek, one of the best silks routines I have witnessed and heaps more, not to mention some slick MC work from Callan. Speaking of Callan, he kept the show moving along at a cracking pace - when he announced we were up to the final act, I was genuinely surprised, but you know what they say - time flies when you're having fun! For a variety show, Crème de la Crème is VERY well rehearsed. They music and lighting cues were spot on and no one missed a beat all night. Most of the performers also perform in other shows, so they energy they gave to their spot tonight was second to none. No sloppy seconds here! Head First Acrobats have put together an EXCELLENT show that truly left us wanting more. You might even learn something - and tonight I learnt never to accept a balloon animal from Callan.
