Yes, I’m a self-confessed ABBA tragic. So much so that I hunted high and low for a font with the reversed capital B, but alas, font designers’ imagination doesn’t stretch that far.

Someone who does have a great deal of imagination is Ingmarie Halling, Creative Director and Curator of the ABBA Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. Just imagine having a job that entails hunting for artefacts from one of the most popular acts in music history, then creating scenes for people to walk through and interact with. She's got lots of stories to share from her time touring with the band and curating Museum's collection, and will be sharing some of them during the performances. She even has a couple of the costumes with her, the first time they've come back to Adelaide since 1977.

Then there’s ABBA The Museum/Choir. Such a magical sound and not to be missed. They wowed me with their performances of "When I Kissed The Teacher" "Dancing Queen" and "I've Been Waiting For You". All the feels came back within the first few notes, in perfect harmony, and you'll be transported back to those fuzzy happy feelings whn you hear them, too, whether you've loved them since the 70's like me, or joined the voyage later in their career.

Younger or older, we're all fans, and the newest leaf from the ABBA family tree is in Adelaide for a brief time with four shows in this year’s Adelaide Fringe Festival, all within the next three days so you need to be quick for your chance to see them live!

They’re here as special guests of The Equality Project’s Better Together National LGBTIQA+ Conference in Adelaide on 17-18 February 2023.

It was a great pleasure to chat to Ingmarie and get a sneak peak of the choir in action, and now I’m “one away” from ABBA.

Get close, yourself, this Friday and Sunday.

Thanks to The Equality Project for making this ABBA fan’s day!
