Wine Confessions with Tash York ★★★★★ Wine tasting is great and all, but we bet you’ve never had a sensory wine tasting experience quite like this! Wine Confessions allows you to experience the wine not just through smell and taste, but also through sound, touch and sight!! Can you believe it? You haven’t lived until you’ve tried! Two of cabarets superstars Tash York and Victoria Falconer come together with Ross from Chalk Hill Wines to create an immersive experience for wine and cabaret lovers alike! Each wine is paired with a specially selected song by our two cabaret darlings. Falconer is not only a maestro on the keys, but also flexes her music muscles with her skills in playing the violin, musical saw and the wine glasses! Veteran performer York (who only seems to get better each Adelaide Fringe, aging exceedingly similar to a fine wine really – very suspicious Tash!) impresses the crowd with her powerful vocals, witty banter and her ability to hold a mic in her chest! Both (the performers that is…..) are able to transport you to a different place with each wine on the tasting list (Using the term “tasting” loosely here as they are very generous pours!). And we not only get to taste the wines through sound, taste, smell and sight, but each wine has a tasting card listing the flavour profile, textured to match the wine! Think a silky smooth 2019 shiraz, or a slightly rougher 2021 tempranillo granache (your mouth surprisingly waters by just touching the tasting card!). And don’t worry wine buffs, Ross from Chalk Hill will take care of you and make sure you get the low down on each wine – with some minor hilarious interruptions from York! This is a show like no other, what could be more Adelaide Fringe than enjoying a wine, listening to some cabaret in a dark underground pop-up bar? Walk into the basement, drink from the chalice and get ready to confess your sins!
