Maho Magic Bar ★★★★

Have you walked past that magnificent colourful venue in The Garden of Unearthly Delights covered with the blinding #neon lights, looking a bit kawaii & wondered what is going on here!? Well, a little piece of Tokyo is currently right here in Adelaide & it’s wow-ing audiences!! Step inside & discover what all the fuss is about!

Hosted by the charismatic & zany Johnny Balance, the premise of Maho Magic Bar is to amaze audiences with up close interactive magic from 5 distinctive magicians - Shohgo Yamashita, Kaori Kitazawa, Sarito, & Jonio – each with their own exclusive style & flair.

As you enter the venue you start to wonder what you got yourself into. Despite the bright exterior, inside we have a dark & dingy (but still somehow stylish) bar. Audience members get to sit up close with their own personal magician who will not only perform ‘what the hell, how did they…..???’ tricks, but will also serve you drinks!  The magicians move around to each table, so you get to witness magic from each sneaky one over the course of the hour. There truly is nothing better than experiencing magic performed right in front of you, tying very carefully to catch out how each trick is done (and failing miserably) & becoming involved in the magic.

There is also a “special” drinks menu - order off that & you will get to see some pretty out-there tricks performed!

From elaborate card tricks, magic coins, flammable objects, balloon swallowing, & hammering nails into body parts, there truly is something for everyone! And, despite it being based in a bar, it actually is a great show to bring the kids along to. Who would’ve thought!

Part show, part bar, part magic, part cheekiness & a whole lot of fun! This is one riotous show for all to enjoy. Leave your reality at the door & be transported into the world of Tokyo with cherry blossoms, sake, wonderment & joy as you step into the brightly lit, dark corner right in the heart of the Adelaide parklands.
