Barbaroi is an amazing act not to be missed! After taking home the award for Best Circus at the Adelaide Fringe in 2021, the show continues to wow audiences with gravity-defying stunts and graceful acrobatics in an hour of thrills and gasps.

The performers have the audience in the palm of their hands, demanding attention from the very beginning of the show. Between flying rings, leaping acrobats and soaring tension, the act has a brilliant lighting team and soundtrack that matches the performance perfectly. With phenomenal hand-eye coordination and unmatched synchronicity, the show exhibits the true capabilities of artists at their peak performance. Although I could not stop smiling under my mask to the point where my cheeks hurt, there are some parts where the story seems to slip away. Despite being floored by their skills and abilities, I only understood who the Barbaroi really were after the show when I read up about them.

Audience members are drawn into the act with a perfect blend of cheeky glances, tension-building stunts, and humour. Their superhuman feats of strength, agility, and balance inspire awe-filled eyes for onlookers. The tone and pacing of the act varies, allowing the audience moments to catch their breath and regain their composure before letting their jaw drop again and again.

In spite of a few stumbles and mishaps during the performance, I absolutely loved the act! If anything, the minor mistakes seamlessly blend into new stunts, adding another layer of complexity to the already outstandingly talented entertainers. The audience can see the comradery between the performers and feel like they are watching a family at work.

Other than making me feel like I really need to hit the gym more, I absolutely loved the entire show. I highly recommend it for all ages and all walks of life because no matter where you’re from, the amazing Barbaroi will not let you down! With the show hitting the road next year, I cannot wait to see where their astonishing talent and skill takes them!
