Rattled by the bones of convicts and steeped in campfire smoke, Bush Gothic perform darker, stranger Australian folk. Defiantly modern, achingly old, this most daring of Australian bush bands perform songs of criminal women and desperate men from an era of transportation, adventure and gold.
Returning to Adelaide for 3 intimate concerts the band has garnered rave responses in the UK for their last album 'The Natural Selection Australian Songbook'. Featuring fiddlesinger Jenny M. Thomas, (piano, spoons and lead vocals), Dan Witton on double bass and vocals Chris Lewis on drumset, piano, glockenspiel and vocals, the band reclaims lost cultural territory, performing dark and beautiful songs of treachery and transportation, dragged them out of the songbooks, ripping them apart then lovingly put back together as a reminder that our history never leaves us.
