Heysen - The Cedars, 68 Heysen Rd, Hahndorf, Peramangk
Located in the historic town of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, The Cedars is the iconic estate of renowned Australian artists Sir Hans Heysen OBE (1877-1968) and Archibald Prize winner and official war artist daughter, Nora Heysen AM (1911-2003). The house and studios are lovingly retained with the original furniture, collections and artwork of the Heysen family. Visitors to The Cedars can tour the beautiful historic home and heritage-listed studios of both Hans and Nora Heysen, delight in the beautiful and extensive Artist’s Garden (the only original one of its kind in Australia), immerse themselves amongst the magnificent gums on the property and relax in the recently opened Cedars' Kitchen cafe. In March 2026 The Cedars will open the new Heysen Gallery, a state of the art space to experience Heysen and other Australian artists' work, and explore our retail space.
