Travis Alabanza discusses BURGERZ with Sam Curtis Lindsay

• LGBTQIA+

After someone threw a burger at them and shouted a transphobic slur, performance artist Travis Alabanza became obsessed with burgers. How they are made, how they feel, and smell. How they travel through the air. How the mayonnaise feels on your skin.

The result is the award winning, international hit show BURGERZ. Part cookery show and part stand-up, BURGERZ explores this act of violence and the myriad of forces at play against the black, trans body.

Join Travis in conversation with the show's director Sam Curtis Lindsay to discuss the recipe and seasoning required during the show's making process and how each of their practices combined to create this hilarious and heart-rending show.

Praise for BURGERZ
