The New Savages Performing Live at Mount Gambier Fringe
Music
• Blues & Roots
The New Savages are an electric and original take on the Delta Blues. Lead singer Milan's striking baritone vocals evoke the spirit of a great poet. His guitar playing is a simple, primitive and hypnotic boogie -- one that sounds as though it was developed at the dawn of time.
In the middle of a 22 date national tour, with a focus on connecting with Australia's more remote and rural communities, The New Savages will be appearing for the first time in Mount Gambier at the Fringe Festival. This Friday night show kicks off the South Australian leg of the tour, with performances in Adelaide and Milang to follow on the rest of the weekend.
They play an authentically Australian Delta Blues, and produce a sound that is all at once familiar but completely original.

The New Savages seem to have their ears are tuned to sounds from another world. This deep interest in the history of the blues led Milan on a pilgrimages into the Mississippi Hill Country. While in Mississippi he met and befriended Kent Burnside, Grandson of the legendary RL Burnside. The two became quick friends and have planned an Australian tour for the end of 2019.
These trips to Mississippi became the basis of inspiration for their debut album "Seventh Son" which is set to be released in 2019.
