The Chaser is a satirical media empire which rivals Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation in all fields except power, influence, popularity and profitability. The Chaser Quarterly is its official journal, which publishes four books a year, and tours shows and produces events off the back of those books. This show is based on "The Great Science Hoax", which was an issue of The Chaser Quarterly in 2016.
The Shovel is one of Australia's biggest satirical news organisation, second only to Sky News Channel. It's a bit like the Adelaide Advertiser or the Herald Sun, but with with slightly longer words.
