Spoon Show
A clown explores the comedic capacity of cutlery.
It's unclear where they got so many of these metal wonders, or for what purpose. With a fool’s brain, a dancer’s body and a determination reserved only for the truly idiotic, Fumble the Clown presents an unforgettable hour of culinary comedy. Simple, inventive and surprisingly heartfelt, this work brings its audience on a ride through the ridiculous imagination of a spoon-obsessed fool.
'Spoon Show' is the sophomore solo work created by Aotearoa-based dancer-turned-clown Daniel Nodder (Only Bones, World of WearableArt 2025). After developing this new foolishness at École Philippe Gaulier, Daniel brings all of their absurdist comedy and multi-award-winning movement skills to this performance. A perfectly balanced spoonful of comedy soup.
Presented by: Daniel Nodder
Daniel (they/he) is an internationally award-winning physical performer, dancer and clown based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington. A École Philippe Gaulier trained clown, they have received mentorship from Thom Monckton and have almost two decades of street dance experience. They specialize in subtle body isolation, twisty contortion and movement that is slapstick, silly and sometimes grotesque.
They choreographed for Untitled Warehouse Project’s Entry: Encounter, an award-winning dance-rave-installation work, and was a headline talent performer in World of WearableArt’s 2025 show RISE. Their award-winning solo work Only Bones – Daniel Nodder has been touring both nationally and internationally since its debut in 2023, and has received awards in Aotearoa, Australia and the United States.
