Close-up of hands wearing handmade silver rings set with colourful cubic zirconia stones. Small containers filled with assorted gemstones in vibrant shades of orange, green, purple, blue, and gold are arranged on a wooden table in the background.
Hands work carefully with a strip of silver-clay on a gridded mat surrounded by jewellery-making tools. Small containers of colourful stones, metal rings, and sculpting instruments are neatly arranged on a wooden table.
Three smiling workshop participants sit together indoors, proudly holding up the small silver rings they created. Artworks, jewellery displays, and warm studio lighting fill the background, creating a cheerful, creative atmosphere.

Silver-clay: A Jewellery Making Experience

Fringe award-winning jewellery workshop returns! Join artist Shirley Wu to explore silver-clay, a soft material that transforms into fine silver jewellery when fired. There are 3 experiences offering:

20 FEB – 22 MAR Organic Ring with Stone: Hand-form a personalised silver ring and set heat-safe stones such as cubic zirconia.
1 MAR ONLY Casting Nature into Jewellery: Bring along leaves, shells, fossils or found objects and learn to capture their textures into a pendant or earrings.
8 MAR ONLY Silver Origami Jewellery: Explore delicate paper-folding techniques in silver-clay to create intricate earrings or pendant.

No experience needed. Each piece is kiln-fired and polished at Shirley’s CBD studio and ready for pickup within 3–5 working days. Extra silver-clay available for larger designs.

1st Mar is Casting only; 8th Mar is Origami only. For Casting, please bring 2–3 small objects (< 5 cm). Reading glasses help with stone setting. Making a ring for someone? Bring their ring for sizing. Extra silver clay available for larger pieces.
