Sacred Chant Sacred Dance
Yoga is a process, a way of life towards unification of the body and spirit. Step inside and embrace the serenity and spirituality. Come into another world.
The dances are presented in a way to portray to people the beauty and importance of movement and breath. Yoga is also great for fitness and health. Come and enjoy the dances and movements and maybe you will be inspired to do some too. Focusing on breath as a powerful tool towards health and energy is essential and one can see it in the dances.
Different items are danced on different days: Sufi and Buddhist chants, chant by the Dalai Lama, Hindu and Christian sacred music.

Shakti studied yoga with her Indian father and dance with her Japanese mother. While receiving her MA in Indian Philosophy at Columbia University, New York she also studied modern dance with Martha Graham.
Upon returning to Japan, Shakti developed a unique hybrid form of dance blending Eastern dance traditions with Western jazz & contemporary dance resulting in an erotic, exotic and shocking effect. She has been performing worldwide to great critical acclaim. Her unique mesmerising performances have touched and tantalised audiences everywhere.
Incorporating yoga with dance movements Shakti has created a form of yoga for health, fitness & beauty with control and strength focusing on prana, the breath. She wishes to share this with the Fringe audience.
