Emma Dean presents Broken Romantics: A Vicious Song Cycle

Music / Cabaret
QLD
Scaled square no text
A show for the warriors of love, the ragtag-hearted heroes, the beautiful, the brave, the healed and the crushed.

Join internationally acclaimed songstress Emma Dean, alongside musicians Tony Dean and Richard Grantham, for a night of music, misadventure and mischief.

Featuring Emma's original music as well as twisted covers of songs by Sia, Foo Fighters and more.

Revel in the messiness of what it means to be human. Raise a glass to your own imperfections, and perhaps... fall in love.

"Singer, songwriter and self proclaimed ringmaster Emma Dean is a hobobag full of crazy pills. Like the really awesome hallucinogenic kind" - The New York Post

"... it's just right. Move over Rufus and Tori. You have company" - The Courier Mail

Presented by:
La Bohème

Heralded for her captivating vocals by the New York Post, Brisbane’s own Emma Dean made New York City’s off-Broadway circuit her domain. There, her award-winning cabaret adventures laid the foundations for an intimate new sound. Called home by sultry climes and birdsong, the maverick singer-songwriter has returned to her Brisbane stomping grounds with a head full of ideas, determined to reignite the city’s sense of musical community.

A consummate performer, Dean has toured the world, performing alongside Jesca Hoop and Kate Miller-Heidke, and in support of Macy Gray, Jinkx Monsoon, Katie Noonan, Amanda Palmer and The Dresden Dolls.

Venue

La Boheme

For years La Bohème has worked to provide an intimate and professional environment for all manner of independent performers, establishing a reputation as Adelaide's home of cabaret. There are two options for performance spaces, the Main Stage (Main Room) and Cabinet Room (Upstairs). The Main Room can comfortably seat 60 patrons and is one of the busiest single room venues throughout the Adelaide Fringe and home to the Cabaret Fringe Festival. The main room is fully equipped with professional sound tech and lighting, along with a professional tech, front of house staff and bar team. This is required to ensure premium quality and security of the venue, unless prior negotiations or an exception of regular or multiple performances is in place. The Cabinet Room offers similar features (with minimal lighting options) and is the perfect space for 40 seated patrons.
