Delia Olam and Eagleheart

Music • World Music
World Premiere
ONE SHOW ONLY. This is gonna be a PARTY! The event will not only be a musical celebration but also the launch of a new album of original music by Delia Olam - on vinyl (featuring the artwork of #MarianaMezic) - which is darn exciting!

The gig will be a magical celebration of musical influences from Delia's life (whose last names translates in Hebrew to 'World') and travels: Persian and Arabic influences; French, Spanish and Italian; Chilean and Argentinian flavours; South East Pacific heart...).

All this brought to the stage and into your ears by this dynamic new duo of local artists - lush vocal harmonies and stripped back masterful instrumentals.

Think Cocteau Twins meets Joni Mitchell meets Nina Simone meets a storytelling session by candlelight...

★★★★ "Mellifluous" RIP IT UP.

Presented by: Delia Olam

Delia Olam is an SA-based independent recording artist, singer-songwriter and theatre maker, and with a lifelong relationship to song: Musical parents; enthusiastic music teachers all peculiarly keen on medieval music; children’s choirs, children’s operas, national choirs, followed by a run singing in a grunge punk girl band Queen of Sheba; collaborations with dub, house and electronica DJs, and finally, a career as a solo performer of original music. Delia recorded her debut album, HELLO ...i like you with jazz musicians at the renowned Mixmasters Studios. More recently, Olam has recorded this new bunch of tracks with Andrew Clermont which features heavily the translated poetry of the mid 19th C. Persian poetess, Ṭáhirih, set to music using cello and Appalachian dulcimer.
