All Roads Lead To Bowie - Two people smiling while performing on stage, one is under 30 and one is over 50

All Roads Lead To Bowie

This is the mostly true story of a youth worker and a volunteer. The worker, aged 50, recently became a grandmother and is burning out fast, and questions her ongoing relevance in the job. But she has her reasons for staying. For now. The volunteer, at 16, struggles each day with a lack of resources and a lack of agency. They are living a life that doesn’t seem like their own, a life out of their control. Perhaps they can help themself while helping others. These two people come together to support a cohort of young people at risk. They bond over their shared commitment. But mostly, they bond over the music of David Bowie. They become the most unlikely of friends and go on to become partners in poetic endeavours they never dared imagine. All Roads Lead to Bowie. And some journey beyond.
