1984

In a world where history is rewritten daily and free speech is all but forgotten, Winston (Jade Watson) craves for her right to exist as an individual with freedom of mind and sexuality with her love, Julia (Jemmah Rattley). In this modernised female lead performance of Orwell's classic, young actors depict the horrors of one's fate in a society where Big Brother is always watching...

The cast of this performance is made up of young people from the Salisbury Youth Performing Arts Group who aim to express themselves and their ideas through their performances.

Presented by: SpaceTime Performing Arts & Salisbury Youth Performing Arts Group

Established by local artist Sarah Valle in April 2016, SpaceTime Performing Arts aims to give all members of society the opportunity to access the arts through learning and involvement. The Salisbury Youth Performing Arts Group is run in conjunction by SpaceTime Performing Arts and Twelve25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise Centre. The group bring together a variety of talented young people from all walks of life to share their passion for the performing arts and develop their skills to help build confidence. Some young people use the group as a stepping stone into pursuing a career in the arts. The group has performed in the Adelaide Fringe regularly since 2016 and was invited to perform for HRH Prince Edward during his visit for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards in April 2018.
