Nice find. Something different

I went to this show as a WW2 history buff who rarely considers LGBT+ issues & was sceptical of the musical format. I really enjoyed the show. It covered a rarely discussed part of WW2 history: the persecution of gay men in concentration camps and the post-war denial that they were victims of the Nazi's due to anti-homosexual laws (so they were one of few groups to be denied compensation). The show was raw, insightful, largely accurate, and non-preachy. Strongly recommended for history buffs.

Very much a work in progress, but Alice is as brilliant, charming and funny as ever, so I can't wait to see how this show evolves into a "finished" product.

Powerful premise and committed performance: a 1957 Germany trial made personal, with clear stakes and real anger. The Disney-bright musical numbers can be brilliant satire, making the cruelty feel sharper. But the tonal whiplash sometimes blunts emotion, and a few songs feel more cute than necessary.

If you haven’t seen a Latebloomers show before, you’re missing out. They are a hilarious comedy troupe and this show is absolute gold.
