Very Private Lives
14 March 2026 - Craig T.Superbly acted first act of the classic Noel Coward comedy. Just a shame we did not get to see the later acts (but that did not spoil the enjoyment). Would love to see the full version at a future Fringe. -
Eric’s Tales of the Sea – A Submariner’s Yarn
12 March 2026 - Craig T.A brilliant show. You do not need to know anything about submarines to enjoy it. In the show, Eric shares stories from his time as a Royal Navy submariner. Some are quite terrifying (such as things that went wrong when learning submarine escape drills), but most are hilarious and relatable (such as the excuses hungover submariners gave the Captain when turning up late for watch). Easy to see why this is an award winning show. -
Psycho or Psychic
09 March 2026 - Craig T.Psycho or Psychic is unhinged in the best way: bold, strange, chaotic and completely left-field. The performer shifts through a parade of wildly different (mostly spirit) characters who seem to be communicating with her. A great pick for audiences who enjoy offbeat clowning. I even got to pick the artist up onto my shoulder at one point! 💪 She was a joy to chat to post-show too. -
The Magic Parlour at Fool’s Paradise
09 March 2026 - Craig T.A fast l-paced, high-quality magic show for all ages, presented to a very small audience. Worth popping along to Pools Paradise to see. Loved every second. -
BLOOM - An International Women's Day fundraiser for the children of Timor Leste
08 March 2026 - Craig T.One of my favourite Fringe shows so far (from the 40+ seen so far this year). The very best female performers from a range of top Garden shows (Georgie Carroll, Bernie Dieter, Haus of YOLO etc) each given a 5 - 10 mins to wow the crowd. All killer, no filler. Only $25 & all for charity. Will definitely go again if it happens next year. -
A Knight to Remember
08 March 2026 - Craig T.Great fun for adults, as well as kids. On entering the venue, you can choose to be on Team Viking or Knights and are seated with fellow team members. Guards with spears and a compere entertain you and get the audience on their team's side, before the fighting (mostly wrestling) starts. There is even a narrative (betrayal etc) to accompany the show, so it is not just endless fighting. Loud, over-the top, fun and a nice break from the usual Fringe fayer. -
“The Hanging of Elizabeth Woolcock” A Biographical True Crime Play.
07 March 2026 - Craig T.Wonderfully acted retelling of the tragic life of Elizabeth Woolcock, who was the only woman ever executed in South Australia. Performed in the prison where the execution took place, the setting could not have been more authentic. Bravo to the team for showcasing this important part of local criminal history. -
Fakespeare
01 March 2026 - Craig T.I am a Shakespeare aficionado and really enjoyed this 45 minute laughter-filled crash course on one the Bard's famous plays (we had a choice of two, and this can vary across shows). The host was a charismatic and engaging presenter who explained the story in a way that anyone new to Shakespeare could relate to. Bravo. -
Cabaret Time Machine
01 March 2026 - Craig T.First-class improv / comedy. When queuing to enter, the audience votes on the era they want it set in. The show then starts with the star asking the audience for suggestions on what to include (e.g. people or events from the era). The next 55 mins is slent telling a hilarious story / singing songs built on these prompts. Hugely talented singer/ comedian & musicians. Recommended. -
The Pink List
24 February 2026 - Craig T.I went to this show as a WW2 history buff who rarely considers LGBT+ issues & was sceptical of the musical format. I really enjoyed the show. It covered a rarely discussed part of WW2 history: the persecution of gay men in concentration camps and the post-war denial that they were victims of the Nazi's due to anti-homosexual laws (so they were one of few groups to be denied compensation). The show was raw, insightful, largely accurate, and non-preachy. Strongly recommended for history buffs. -
The Last Audition
21 February 2026 - Craig T.A wonderfully acted and poignant one-hander about an aging Shakespearian actor who is auditioning for the role of King Lear whilst battling the earliest stages of dementia. Nice nods to other Shakespeare plays throughout. Tucked away in a small theatre within the Star venue, this is a true hidden gem that deserves attention from drama-lovers. -
DUST
20 March 2025 - Craig T.An acting masterclass! I watch a large number of theatre shows each year, from small one-hander Fringe shows to large productions. Very few shows leave a lasting impression, but this one will. The acting was on-par with that in Mark Thomas' England and Son from last year's Fringe. Well done to the team who put this excellent together.
