Presented by: Asabiyyah Theatre of Hope and Northern Sound System
In 2023, Asabiyyah Theatre of Hope emerged as an Arts Academy supporting the development of new theatre, music, dance, poetry and audio-visual work, showcasing the voices of people of colour, and using the arts to explore and contribute to social discourses and bring diverse peoples together, and strengthen the community capacity for social cohesion that transcends tribal lines.
The theatre hosts weekly classes, holiday workshops, theatre development spaces (currently based in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide, and primarily collaborating with diverse new arrivals to Australia) and finally the performances of those works in Adelaide Fringe Festival.
The first show "What Do You Remember? (A Memorial for the Child Within)" was an Adelaide Fringe Weekly Award winner - the "Cultural Diversity Award" from ARA.
