Vernacular

Music • Choral
South Australia • SA Premiere

Vernacular is a celebration of ordinary people throughout time, and telling stories in the languages they were originally written in. From lost love on the seas to the solitude of a mountain range, this music expresses the connections of the human experience. From Ireland to Finland, these folk songs encompass the past 800 years.

A diverse ensemble, Aurora performs a range of repertoire from folk to classical to contemporary, under the direction of their conductor Christie Anderson.

“Beautiful, moving, simply stunning... skill, agility, and power.” Felix Preval

“This group is extraordinary... Aurora is a rare beast – a group that everyone should hear.” Timothy Wayne-Wright

Folk songs are a form of passing stories on, and Aurora is honoured to pass these onto you.

Beverages will be available to purchase.
