Unrequited: A Gay Emo Story

A darkly funny dramedy about queer heartbreak and the chaos of teenage friendship. When moody teen Drai is rejected by their crush, their friends Maude and Farlei launch a reckless matchmaking plan — what could possibly go wrong? Between graveyard confessions, disastrous dates, and tangled secrets, they stumble through love, loyalty, and self-discovery with tenderness and absurdity.

Written and performed by teen artists from Adelaide, this play captures the raw rush of queer adolescence, where every rejection feels like the end of the world and every friendship teeters between devotion and disaster. Blending biting humour with moments of quiet vulnerability, it explores how young people grasp for connection and meaning amid heartbreak.
