Tribal Sound Journey
After a sold out 2025 Fringe season, Matt Benjamin’s Tribal Sound Journey returns to Adelaide Fringe 2026 with a new show. A master multi-instrumentalist, Matt blends the deep resonance of Didgeridoo, celestial Handpan tones, soaring voice, hypnotic world percussion, and immersive live looping into transformative soundscapes. His performances move from high-energy rhythms that ignite dance to soulful, meditative journeys of reflection. Drawing on his North African, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern roots, Matt creates a world music experience that captivates, uplifts, and moves audiences—where ancient rhythms meet immersive modern sound

Matt Benjamin of Tribal Sound Journey has been immersed in music for over 30 years. Drawing from his North African, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern heritage, he explores diverse musical traditions and fuses them with live loops and world beats. Matt has mastered the yidaki (didgeridoo) and studied West African percussion under master teachers from Senegal, Ghana, and Sierra Leone. Recently, he embraced the handpan, a contemporary instrument that has captivated his creativity.
