Thunderstruck: A Night of Classic Rock

Experience an electrifying fusion of two visionary international talents in this world premiere performance season.

Lewis Major, Australia’s rising star in contemporary dance, collaborates live with Blue Violin, founder and first violinist of the Boston String Quartet, conservatory-trained virtuoso, rock and roll maestro and international touring favourite who has helped redefine the contemporary classical scene.

In this breathtaking in-the-round candlelit concert, Major’s dancers move in perfect harmony with Blue Violin’s genre-defying sound. Featuring a thrilling blend of rock energy, iconic power ballads and classical favourites reimagined through virtuosic live violin loops where the boundaries of music and movement dissolve in the soft glow of five hundred onstage candles.

The performance features a mesmerising repertoire, including a reimagining of classic rock favourites such as "Kashmir", "Footloose", and "Thunderstruck". Witness the transformation of iconic tunes like “Free Bird” and “Stairway to Heaven” through the unique lens of Lewis Major and the Blue Violin.

"Awe-striking imagery, visual representation and unique choreography" The Guardian
