Through the Window
Four windows, twelve artists, twelve stories.
The Ruby Award Winning U City Arts Studio is home to artists, writers, fashion designers, scientists, philosophers and creative educators. We are passionate creatives who are challenging and inspiring, constantly looking for new ways to tell our story. This year for Fringe we are moving into our pop up window gallery to paint our hearts across the walls. As you walk down Pitt Street to the market watch us at work as we contemplate you and you contemplate us. Then join us between 10am-midday Fridays in the U City Foyer for creative conversations with the artists.
This is a collaborative project with artists from our Drug and Alcohol Program, Disability and Retiree Residents, Youth and Aboriginal Services.

In our paint splattered community arts studio at 24 Pitt St, artists from all walks of life work side by side navigating anxiety, loneliness, mental health and physical health issues and making art and conversation together. Our door is always open and we always, always love a good yarn!
In 2022 The U City Arts Studio won a Ruby Award for Outstanding Achievement in Community Arts for their project "An Encounter of Strangers".
