The Sound of One Man Cracking
What happens when a Zen monk, a tennis racquet, and two urns walk into a midlife crisis? After seventy years of chasing perfection — through acting, cycling, meditation, and sheer panic — Alan Lovell brings his parents’ ashes onstage to find out what really went wrong. A brutally funny, deeply human, one-man show about love, loss, and learning that maybe, just maybe, there was never anything to fix.
Alan Lovell returns to the stage with a brand new one-man show after his hugely successful 'I Pilgrim' sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019.
Alan's credits include the 'Comedy Company', 'Andrew Denton's Live and Sweaty', 'Mission Impossible 2', 'Strife', 'The Last Anniversary', 'Separation City', and more.
Presented by: Alan Lovell
Alan Lovell has spent 45 years acting, writing and performing from Sydney to New York to Edinburgh. He’s appeared in Mission Impossible 2, Rake, Heartbreak High, and countless stage productions — but his true calling is the one-man show. A Zen monk, cancer survivor and comic truth-teller, Alan’s work turns self-doubt into laughter and failure into wisdom. His hit show 'I Pilgrim' sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019. Now he returns with 'The Sound of One Man Cracking' — a funny, heartfelt journey through ego, enlightenment, and the art of letting go. It’s part memoir, part stand-up, part spiritual unravelling — the story of a man who’s been searching for peace his whole life, only to discover the joke’s on him.
