The Platypus by Francis Greenslade

Multiple genres, two actors, one black comedy.

The platypus is a strange creature, composed of odds and ends. A curiosity. A bit wrong somehow.

Just like this play.

A play about Richard, Jessica and the end of their relationship.

Written and directed by Francis Greenslade (Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell, Winners and Losers) and performed by John Leary (The Good Place, Upper Middle Bogan) and Rebecca Bower (Offspring, Wentworth), The Platypus is a genre-busting delight – an outrageously clever, wildly entertaining play about theatre, relationships and the roles we all play.

"This bold mix of genres delivers a witty, delightful, entertaining evening. Bower and Leary are wonderful." Stage Whispers

"Skilfully balances drama and comedy…masterfully handled by (its) seasoned performers" ArtsHub

Presented by: Buckets Nijinksy Productions in association with Soft Tread Enterprises

Buckets Nijinsky is the production company of Adelaide's own Francis Greenslade, best known from Shaun Micallef's MAD AS HELL. Soft Tread is run by principal Jo Dyer and has produced many great shows including the Wharf Revue and Jonathan Biggins' one-man play bio-play of Paul Keating, THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO PAUL.
