Alex Lowes is a Melbourne-based comedian and filmmaker. He has written and performed multiple solo shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and has performed everywhere from Adelaide to Edinburgh as a guest on the Late Nite Powerpoint Comedy Showcase. He is primarily known on the local Aussie comedy scene as the host and curator of ‘The Lowes Lounge’, a comedy variety show with a live jazz band. His short films have collected awards at film festivals Australia-wide — and earned nods from acclaimed directors Adam Elliot and Terry Gilliam. He once lost $20,000 on Millionaire Hot Seat, and shortly after made the logical leap to a career in comedy (an industry renowned for its financial stability).
