This show belongs to the Adelaide Fringe 2022 season. This season is now over.

One of the Buffalo Drive logos was a hand-drawn cartoon of a large menacing buffalo; large, but not threatening, menacing, but in a lighthearted way; bright red/orange in colour with big horns. This image typically reflected the band at its height in the early 70's; larger-than-life itself, straight-ahead, good-time rock!
Fifty years on from the year 'Buffalo Drive' formed, five original members from 'The Henchmen', 'Genesis', and 'Buffalo Drive' have regrouped to relive the songs, the joy and the fun times.
Pictured from left to right are: Rod Boucher (lead vocals, guitar, banjo, mandolin), Georgina Nou (vocals, percussion), David "Jacko" Jackson (double bass, keyboards, vocals), Rodney "Bodzac" Dunn (drums, percussion, vocals, random noises and comments), Graham "Grimy" Bettany (bass, 12 string guitar, vocals) assisted by Peter Farley (guitars, vocals).
Buffalo Drive owned an old Commer van, painted either side with their other logo - that of a buffalo head - which they used to haul their equipment from venue to venue, both locally in Adelaide, and further afield interstate.
Original members standing in front of the band are, from left to right: Rod Boucher (lead vocals, guitar, banjo), Vello Nou (keyboards & Hammond organ), Hayden Hill (guitar & vocals), Rodney "Bodzac" Dunn (drums, percussion & vocals), Valdis Adamsons (lead guitar & vocals), Graham "Grimy" Bettany (bass & vocals).

***** Margaret Legedza March 2021
'The Evolution of 'Buffalo Drive' was more than a concert; it was a JOURNEY through the history of a local 60s/70s band ... 'The Henchmen' ... acoustic folk music with GORGEOUS HARMONIES ... 'Genesis', with a more pop and electric sound ... 'Buffalo Drive' ... it was their ORIGINAL SONGS that SHONE THROUGH ... Jumpin' Judy ... Money Stride ... Life's Been Good To Me ... It was a WONDERFUL EVENING of music intertwined with stories and anecdotes ... I loved every moment of the show and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT to all who want to learn about a slice of Adelaide's music history ... Life's been good to me... and to Buffalo Drive!"
The Evolution of Buffalo Drive CONTINUES... Playing all the old hits plus brand new material!

Presented by: Buffalo Drive

1970's Adelaide band, 'Buffalo Drive', evolved from a local folk quartet, 'The Henchmen', around 1964: 4 mates featuring strong vocal harmonies and acoustic instruments - guitars, banjo, mandolin and double bass.
In 1969 'The Henchmen' morphed into 'Genesis' and began playing original songs along with popular covers.
In 1970 they went electric, brought in a lead guitarist, drummer and Hammond organist, and became 'Buffalo Drive', a 6-piece national touring and recording rock band, whose music evolved from the rollicking folk of the 50s and early 60s via covers of 60s/70s pop hits to strong original songs with a feel-good, sing-along vibe including chart hit, 'Life's Been Good To Me".
50 years on 5 original members have regrouped to relive and present the songs, the joy and the fun times!
