The Dressing Room
After a successful premiere in Melbourne, we are coming to South Australia during the Lunar New Year!
An interdisciplinary physical theatre integrates elements of dance, acrobatics, martial arts and Chinese traditional theatre (Cantonese Opera and King Opera, recognised as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009 and 2010 by UNESCO respectively). With the cross-dressing tradition from Chinese traditional theatre, we reflect the diversity of genders and cultures that flourish nowadays. Come and celebrate the Lunar New Year with us!
Originally created in the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne.
Presented by Culture Media Theatre.
VIP ticket offers a premium Chinese tea service 15 minutes before the show starts, please arrive at 15:45. It also includes a photo session with performers after the show outside the theatre.
The venue has access to motels, shopping, restaurants and cafes. It is also close to Adelaide’s city centre and easily accessible by tram, train, bus or bike. Audiences will enter off Victoria Street through the accessible entrance.
