The Bakers

Three bakers - one bakery! Dough up the walls, flour in your eyes. Join The Latebloomers, award-winning creators of ‘Scotland!’ for another dose of the ridiculous and the sublime.

A non-verbal physical comedy focusing on the world of a French bakery, The Bakers uses mime, slapstick and melodrama to tell a story of family breakdown, a wayward son and the modern world encroaching on a small traditional family business.

★★★★★ "Simply pure gold" Fringefeed, 2020

★★★★★ "Extremely hysterical physical comedy" GLAM Adelaide, 2021

We are an international company of performers from the UK, Sweden and Australia who met at the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in Paris. Our work draws on our training in physical theatre, clown and mime. We create experiences that can only exist in live theatre, constantly letting ourselves be inspired by complicity with the audience. Above all we want to make people laugh, and believe that by doing so we can create truly moving, unforgettable events.
