The Art of Storm-Whistling - An old fashioned lantern glowing with an orange flame, attached to a wall, while a ship's mast looms black against a dark blue nighttime background.

The Art of Storm-Whistling

"When I was ten years old, my uncle disappeared at sea."

John grows up in the aftermath, his only memento a book of maritime legends annotated by his beloved uncle. Uncle Max has filled the margins with scribbled creatures and maps that don't make sense. The adults whisper about foul play, but John knows his uncle's secret. He disappeared on purpose. He was looking for something.

Knowing his story is impossible, John holds his secret close for many years. But the pages of Max's book remain oft-thumbed, until the day he makes a decision. He will buy a boat. He will follow the maps. And - whatever it reveals about the nature of reality - he will find out the truth.

A new Australian play created by two emerging artists and presented in collaboration with the Curious Roach Collective.
